James Perch is willing to try and solve Nottingham Forest’s penalty problems.
The Reds boast a 100 per cent record from their three League One games so far this season – despite remarkably missing penalties in each match.
Grant Holt is likely to get the job of taking the next spot-kick Forest are awarded but Perch is waiting in the wings to take over should manager Colin Calderwood require his services.
The midfielder told us: ‘At training the other day it was either myself or Grant Holt who would be taking them.
‘I think I will give the job to Grant because he’s a striker but if he misses I’ll be getting it.’
Jack Lester failed to convert spot-kicks in Forest’s wins over Blackpool and Northampton, while substitute Neil Harris failed from the spot in the opener against Bradford.
