I suppose this would make things a little bit more streamlined.
It’s a pretty straight forward plan, and it will be interesting to see if the club does go down this route, but only time will tell, as will the results. Sabri Lamouchi has been very subdued about his contract situation at the City Ground, and according to one noted journalist, it looks as if we’ll have to wait until the end of the season before we get any further clarification on his position.
Speaking during a Q&A for The Athletic, Paul Taylor spoke about the contract situation for the Frenchman and lined out what he believes is the next course of action for the club:
“Only one thing is certain – if he leads Forest to promotion he will earn a new contract. If he guides them to a top-six finish, I find it a little hard to envisage a situation where he does not get a new deal. If they miss out then, bluntly, I’d expect Forest to move on to the next man… When he arrived in the summer, he was told his target was to deliver a promotion push. That has not changed. I think he understands that. I certainly don’t get the feeling he feels any pressure or concern over the situation.”
The thing is though; I don’t think the club should be waiting for results to play out before they offer him the deal; it’s something that needs to be sorted out now before it’s too late.

As Taylor says, his stock is only going to go up and up, with some Premier League clubs reportedly already interested in him earlier this season, and regardless of if he finishes in the Top 6, I believe that he has earned the right to have another shot at this division.
Much in the same way Marcelo Bielsa was given another go at Leeds United after his first season in charge, Lamouchi has taken Forest a huge step forward from where they were last year, so if he can’t get the job finished this year, he needs to be given the chance to finish it off next season.

Whatever happens this season, the club should (at the very least) give him another years contract. He has. brought back respect to our beloved club. The way Leeds United fans are slinging the mud at our achievement of this season proves a point that we are a club to be feared. And didn’t we get. 4 points from them.?

He deserves another year at least and enough money to buy at least 5 new players to get us up
JESUS.Get the man signed up now and for more than 1 year.What he has done in the last 7 months is nothing more than miraculous.Just look at the improvement in fitness,coaching and more importantly results.Only a buffoon would not sign him up.Problem is buffoons are not a rare breed.
He definitely should be given a new contract and sooner rather than later. He is doing a brilliant job and needs to be given the time, if not this season, then to take Forest further in the future. He is popular with both players and fans, and to let him go would be a massive mistake. Please give him the time to do the job. As we know, not doing this in the past has got us nowhere. He also is a thoroughly nice man.
Whatever happens this season, he needs to be in charge next season. Only teams that build can create a successful outcome.
If he was to be replaced, the new manager would want his new players & ideas, which would undo all the work which has been achieved this year!
We’ve, already tried this approach over the last 20yrs & proved, it doesn’t work!
Lam the Man, has the respect of the dressing room, the fans & is not going to be short of new suitors, if we are daft enough to let him leave.
Don’t rock the boat, as this ship has set a course that will lead us back to our long term destination, if not this year, certainly next!
