Well at least we know what the future holds for one manager.

As I’m sure you’re aware by now, Birmingham City are set for a change of manager at the end of the season, after Spaniard Pep Clotet announced that he is going to step down at the end of the season.

And when I saw the news come across, I couldn’t help but think to myself that at least Birmingham City fans now know what is going to happen in the dugout at the end of the season, and how I wish we could be in the same boat.

We heard back in April that talks were underway between Sabri Lamouchi and the Nottingham Forest board in regards to a new contract. It’s been nearly two months since then, and we haven’t heard anything to indicate either way which way the talks have been going.

Whilst some of the time would have been taken up by the news of the season getting back underway, meaning that the Frenchman’s attention would have been taken up somewhat by getting back on the training ground, but even so, the fact that we are going into such a crucial stage of the season without knowing for sure whether or not our manager is going to be back with us for the next campaign regardless of what division we’re in.

Will Sabri Lamouchi sign a new contract?

Yes

Yes

No

The fact they were willing to open up talks whilst promotion hasn’t been guaranteed, to me shows that they are at least willing to play with the idea of having him back next year even if we are still in the Championship.

But it really is now time to put pen to paper on both sides, and put a lot of people’s minds at ease.

What about you? Are you concerned that there hasn’t been much noise coming from the club in regards to a new contract for Lamouchi?
