Joe Lolley was having a slow start to the new season, but the 26-year-old finally got off the mark in the Championship after a standout performance against Birmingham City. Lolley scored one goal and made one assist as Forest beat the Blues 3-0 on August 17.

He was the best player on the park and involved himself in most attacks. Lolley broke the deadlock in the 15th minute with a low drive from distance. Forest took a quick free-kick and laid the ball on for Lolley to beat Lee Camp from 25 yards.

The Englishman turned provider minutes later for Lewis Grabban to make it 2-0. Lolley ran down the right-wing and stood up a cross to the back post for Grabban to head home in the 22nd minute. Michael Dawson scored the third goal of the game in the 65th minute.

Over the 90 minutes, Lolley made 57 touches, had four shots with 50% hitting the target, created two chances, made 30 passes with 63% accuracy, completed five dribbles, whipped in six crosses with 50% accuracy, made one tackle, played seven long balls with 57% accuracy and drew one foul.

Sabri Lamouchi will be happy to see one of his best players appears to be returning to form.
