Opinion: Sabri Lamouchi has difficult decision to make on Nottingham Forest defender

|

Nottingham Forest travel to face Bristol City on Saturday and Sabri Lamouchi will have a difficult decision to make on who to name at the heart of his defence.

Joe Worrall has partnered Tobias Figueiredo at centre-back since Michael Dawson picked up a calf injury, but the club captain is available for selection and could be in contention to start against City.

Dawson has made nine appearances this season, the last of which came against Stoke City (September 27). The 36-year-old missed five games through injury before returning to the matchday squad in Forest’s 1-0 win over Derby County (November 10).

As per Barry Cooper of Nottinghamshire Live, Lamouchi opted against playing Dawson as he’d undergone only three training sessions at the time. Now the veteran defender’s had more than a week to improve his conditioning, he could be in line to start alongside Worrall.

Who should be Forest's CB going forward?

Figueiredo has fared well in Dawson’s absence, but the latter was solid as a rock with Worrall before October. It’s a big call for Lamouchi to make ahead of Saturday’s meeting with City, but it remains to be seen which defender he’ll call upon.
