Nottingham Forest target Mbaye Diagne is reportedly trying to be offloaded by his club Galatasaray.

According to Turkish Football, the Istanbul giants rate Diagne highly but do not see a future for him at the club. Due to a fallout with manager Fatih Terim and the technical staff, they are desperate to get rid of him when the 2019/20 season ends.

The report also adds that Sarı-Kırmızılılar are yet to receive an offer from Forest but they would be willing to sell the Senegal international for as little as £5m.

Diagne scored 31 goals and provided four assists in 36 appearances during the last campaign and his good early season form with Turkish outfit Kasimpasa saw him rewarded with a move to Galatasaray.

The 28-year-old is currently on loan at the Belgian outfit Club Brugge and even made two appearances in the Champions League, coming off the bench against his parent club and Paris Saint-Germain. However, he got himself into trouble in Belgium after missing a penalty that he was not supposed to take during a 1-0 defeat against the French side.

This is a player who has plenty of experience. Regardless of his differences with the staff at Galatasaray, this should not be part of the equation as far as our interest in the player is concerned.

He has a fabulous goalscoring record, with us sitting perilously close to the automatic promotion places, it is imperative that we strengthen our squad in the attacking department, regardless of what division we are in next season.

Diagne would be the perfect replacement for Sammy Ameobi. With only three goals this season, he is not good enough to take us forward. The Senegalese striker has what it takes to keep Lewis Grabban on his toes.
