According to Le10 Sport (h/t Nottinghamshire Live), Nottingham Forest are interested in Sada Thioub. The 23-year-old has impressed for Nimes Olympique this season and could be on his way to the City Ground. Thioub has contributed seven goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances, creating 34 chances and making 68 successful dribbles (61%).
Transfermarkt say Nimes haven’t sold a player for more than £1.35m in their history, but Thioub could be their new record departure. His market value is between £4.95m and £6m according to Transfermarkt and CIES. His exact wage demands are unknown, but Statista say the average salary at Nimes is £0.23m-a-year/£4.4k-per-week. He wouldn’t break the bank for Forest as a result.
Forest’s interest in Thioub may suggest they’re fearful of losing an existing player in his position – Joe Lolley. The 26-year-old was recently named Reds’ Player of the Season after contributing 21 goals in 44 Championship games and is expected to be linked with many clubs this summer.
Whether Thioub will be on his way to the City Ground remains to be seen, however, as there are likely to be a lot of players on Forest’s wishlist.
