Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Hosam Aiesh this summer, but their pursuit of the 24-year-old has recently hit a stumbling block with Nottinghamshire Live revealing that more clubs are entering the race for his signature – Middlesbrough, Leeds United and Reading are reportedly keen on the wide-man.

Aiesh joined Ostersunds from Hacken in 2015 and has gone on to make 106 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 27 goals. The Swedish international enjoyed the best season of his career in 2018, contributing 16 goals in 23 Allsvenskan games. He has three goals in eight games in 2019.

Martin O’Neill could be looking to bolster Forest’s options in the final third after Ben Osborn and Matty Cash struggled for form in 2019 – Kamil Grosicki of Hull City and Gavin Whyte of Oxford United have also been linked. Osborn hasn’t scored since January while Cash has only one goal to his name since December 2018, so it’s clear that the Reds need more goals in attack.

Forest’s hopes of signing Aiesh are diminishing as more clubs are linked with the winger, however, so O’Neill has his work cut out to beat out the competition.
