Forest probably said goodbye to their play-off hopes last night with a second-half collapse against Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.

The Reds still had an outside chance of making the top six going into the game and beating a rival for it would have been ideal.

However, form is not with us and neither is confidence, whilst the turn on Martin O’Neill, unfortunately, appears to be happening already.

We all wanted to give him time but we were all wary that it might not work out and, right now, he appears to be confirming what we all feared about him as a manager.

Great in his day as a boss and a player, he just seems out of touch now and, though I’d like to see him prove us all wrong, I just can’t see it.

As a playing hero, it’s a real pity but the appointment came 20 years too late in all honesty, and we’re paying now – it’s time to end things before he does real damage to his reputation.
