Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat to play-off rivals Fulham is probably not one that anyone associated with Nottingham Forest will remember particularly fondly.
But while that defeat may have been a disappointing one in what could be a dress rehearsal for a play-off semi-final in just a few weeks time, it did at least see one player bring up a milestone in Forest colours.
That clash with Fulham saw centre back Joe Worrall make his 100th appearance in all competitions for the club, a feat that the 23-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Rangers, was clearly pleased with.
Is Joe Worrall good enough for the Premier League?
Yes
No
Taking to Twitter in the aftermath the game, Worrall spoke of his pride at reaching such a landmark for the club, reflecting on his journey to such a landmark.
Honour to play for this great club. If you’d have told me at 13 when it was touch and go about Forest signing me, that i’d go and play 100 times for the club I would have laughed.
We’ve said it all season but the next game is all we are focusing on.
Come on Forest! #NFFC❤️ https://t.co/1kMxOl3jby— Joe Worrall (@JoeWorrall5) July 7, 2020
That milestone, and Worrall’s affection for the club, is something that was not surprisingly appreciated by Forest fans, with many keen to pay tribute to the centre back as they responded to Worrall’s post.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say about Worrall reaching that milestone.
You’re a class player Joe! Keep it up 🔴⚪️
