Nottingham Forest suffered a 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic on Sunday and Rafa Mir was one of many players to come in for criticism from supporters.
The 22-year-old has been short of form, fitness and playing time since joining on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he was handed a rare start by Sabri Lamouchi after the international break.
Unfortunately, Mir failed to impress at the DW Stadium and may find himself dropped when Forest lock horns with Hull City on October 23.
Against Wigan, the striker played for 54 minutes, made 17 touches, won two aerial duels, completed 50% of his eight passes, had five shots with 20% accuracy and completed two dribbles.
Key points:
It’s only one game lads, remain calmSamba and Cash were still good today
Just a game of individual mistakes that cost us in the end
Mir lacking confidence at the moment, big time
Should’ve started Ameobi and Adomah
Can we have our Malian truck back please? #nffc

Think it would be sensible to get Mir a bit of confidence and hopefully a few goals for the U23s, looked miles off the pace today #nffc

#NFFC 1st time i watched Forest this season in the league. Bostock is terrible, Mir not a good replacement for Grabban, Ribeiro a bit lost. But honestly, 2nd half we were pretty decent. High hopes.

Totally Understand Sabri Changing The Team With Three Games In A Week,But Rafa Mir Should Not Be Aloud Near A Football Pitch #NFFC

As per Transfermarkt, Mir has made eight appearances in all competitions for the Reds, making two assists. He’s failed to get off the mark in his 305 minutes of football, however, and isn’t look like an effective signing by Forest.
Karim Ansarifard, Apostolos Vellios, Jason Cummings, Daryl Murphy and Hillal Soudani were all offloaded over the summer, so Lamouchi may have to seek out another attacker in the January transfer window as Mir isn’t cutting it.
