Nottingham Forest striker and top goal scorer for the club Simon Cox, became an injury concern for the Reds’ this week, whilst injured on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

Cox suffered a knock to his ankle in Eire’s 1-0 friendly defeat to Greece in midweek and limped off the field after an hour of the game. According to the Forest official site, Cox has been sent for x-rays and are awaiting the results.

However, manager Sean O’Driscoll says that rock hard Cox is confident that he will be available for selection on Saturday and the manager himself sounds hopeful. O’Driscoll told the official site. “I think Simon is ok. He has been carrying a knock on his foot for some time and he just got kicked in exactly the same place.’

Cox is currently the Reds’ top scorer, with 5 goals from 19 appearances.
