Nottingham Forest v Southampton: Head To Head

The league table as they say doesn’t lie, but the Soccerbase Head to Head form guide says Forest are in with a more than fair chance of bagging all 3 points at the City Ground this afternoon.

With 23 points and 21 places in the league table separating the 2 sides, you’d be wise to bet against a Forest win today.

However, there have been a total of 97 meetings between the teams in the league and Forest have taken the points in 42 games, losing 34 and sharing the spoils in 21.

The last time the teams met back in September, the Saints ran out 3-2 winners at St. Mary’s, thanks to a Rickie Lambert hat-trick. My prediction for today’s game is a 1-1 draw. We really do need the 3 points, but I’d take the draw now if it was on offer.
