Nottingham Forest Transfer Gossip

The latest name on the Nottingham Forest rumour mill, is that of Nottingham born Andrew (you must not call him Andy) Cole.

The former Man Utd frontman has had his name thrown into the ring courtesy of the fact that Sunderland have let him go and he’s turned down the chance of a permanent move to Burnley, where he ended the season on loan. He’s 36 now and although he bagged 13 goals for the Clarets, you have to be honest and say his best days are behind him. Still it keeps the message boards turning over I suppose.

Not much happening on the Robert Earnshaw front either at the moment, but he is reportedly still on his jollies. News is expected this week though, one way or another. The Blunts are said to be interested in the former Sheep worrier, so it could all come down to the wages on this one.

As for James Beattie joining us, that was just a ruse to wind up the Blunts I think and wind them up it did. They were none too thrilled at him coming here, especially for what they consider a miserly £4M. Mark Bunn is a likely target and could well sign, but Ipswich are also said to be interested in the Cobbler as well.

One rumour that is getting hotter and seemingly more likely, is that of our very own Kris Commons. Reports today from the head Sheep, says they are in talks with the self proclaimed Forest fan and that talks are going well. All in all an unsatisfactory day at the rumour mill.
