According to Kicker (h/t Nottinghamshire Live), Nottingham Forest have ‘taken an interest’ in Simon Falette who is ‘struggling for game time’ at Eintracht Frankfurt. The centre-back could be open to a move away from the Commerzbank-Arena, having racked up just four Bundesliga appearances this season – three of which have come in recent weeks.

Falette has made 36 appearances in all competitions for Frankfurt since joining the club from FC Metz in August 2017. The Guinean international has led a nomadic career, playing for the likes of FC Tours, FC Lorient, Stade Laval and Stade Brest 29, but he was settling in Germany. Falette made 27 league appearances in his debut season but he’s had to be patient for opportunities ever since.

This campaign, Falette had featured only once up until early-December, having been an unused substitute and being left out of the matchday squad at times. And while he is back in the starting lineup, the defender could still consider his long-term options at Frankfurt who are currently sixth in the Bundesliga with 27 points from 17 games.

Forest have Michael Dawson, Tobias Figueiredo and Michael Hefele for options, but injuries have left them short on cover at the back. They may yet add to their squad as a result.
