Jason Cummings could be on his way out of Nottingham Forest as Sabri Lamouchi is keen to offload the out-of-favour striker before the summer transfer window shuts for overseas clubs.

Cummings finds himself on the periphery at the City Ground after struggling for form and playing time in the last two years, but boxer Lee McGregor believes he’s “dying to get a move” to Scotland and would join Hearts “in a heartbeat”.

McGregor said on Twitter: “Dying to get a move back to Scotland I cannot understand why hearts haven’t snapped him up yet! Trust me this boy would score goals for us and he’s exactly what we need! It’s not down to him it’s down to hearts trust me he’d come in a heart beat.”

Cummings has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Forest since his move from Hibernian in 2017, scoring four goals. In his debut season, the 24-year-old netted just one goal in 13 Championship appearances and has since been loaned out after falling out of favour in the Midlands.

He scored just two league goals in 15 Scottish Premiership games for Rangers (January 15, 2018 – May 14, 2018), six in 22 League One outings for Peterborough United (July 13, 2018 – January 30, 2019) and one in five League One matches for Luton Town (January 31, 2019 – May 31, 2019).

The Scotland international’s contract expires in 2020 and is unlikely to be renewed by Forest given his last appearance for the club came against Sunderland on December 30, 2017. Whether Hearts will make a move remains to be seen, however.
