According to the Football Insider, Nottingham will ‘open contract talks’ with Joe Lolley, with the 26-year-old having been in fine form this season. Lolley has contributed 13 goals in 20 Championship games and has helped the Reds go within a place of the playoffs. His form under Aitor Karanka has led to increased interest in his signature and Forest are desperate to tie him down to a long-term contract as a result.

Lolley’s existing contract expires in 2022 but he could be in line for an improved contract as well as an extension. The winger joined Forest from Huddersfield Town in January 2018 and has been a fantastic signing. West Bromwich Albion, Watford and Cardiff City are all monitoring Lolley, which is why Forest are desperate to see where his loyalty lies. A January departure would be catastrophic as it could hamper the club’s playoff hopes.

There’s been no word from Lolley that suggests he’s looking for a speedy departure, but that could all change if Forest miss out on promotion and clubs in the Premier League make their interest official. Time will tell, but his contract still has plenty of years to run before Karanka needs to get worried.
