Hillal Soudani has been ruled out until 2019 after undergoing surgery on his knee. The 30-year-old picked up a knee injury between early September and mid-October and suffered a setback at the end of October. He’s now undergone surgery which is expected to see him sidelined for a number of months. His return could be in spring.

Soudani made six league appearance for Forest this season, scoring two goals. His injury is a blow for Aitor Karanka, but the Reds boss will have the likes of Lewis Grabban and Karim Ansarifard to choose from in attack. Forest are enjoying a bright start to the campaign too, sitting one place and one point off the Championship playoffs.

Karanka’s side have won two and drawn two of their last four games and next travel to the KCOM Stadium to face Hull City on November 24. Grabban is expected to lead the line, having scored nine goals and making two goals in 16 league games, and Forest will be favourites to pick up all three points. Hull are 22nd in the table and have dropped points in three of their last four home games.
