Nottingham Forest man could miss last three games of the season, walking tightrope on Friday

Jack Colback could miss the last three games of the season if he picks up another yellow card – Middlesbrough (April 22), Queens Park Rangers (April 27) and Bolton Wanderers (May 5). The 29-year-old has 14 bookings for the season and would be given a three-game ban if he adds to his tally on Friday – he’s walking the tightrope against Sheffield United this week.

Colback has already been suspended for on two separate occasions earlier in the season. He served a one-game ban in November for picking up five yellow cards and a two-game ban in February for picking up 10 yellow cards. Friday’s meeting with Sheffield United could be his final game in a Forest shirt if he’s cautioned.

The midfielder has been booked against West Bromwich Albion (August 7), Wigan Athletic (August 18), Birmingham City (August 25), Blackburn Rovers (September 29), Leeds United (October 27), Aston Villa (November 28), Derby County (December 17), Norwich City (December 26), Reading (January 12), Wigan (January 26), Derby (February 25), Aston Villa (March 13), Ipswich Town (March 16) and Swansea City (March 30) this season and needs to keep his wits about him at Bramall Lane.

With promotion from the Championship all but out of Forest’s hands, the Reds don’t have much to play for. Suspension would be a bad way for Colback to end the season, however.
