Nottingham Forest ‘invited’ young forward for trial after ‘representatives watched’ him

According to Gol24, Nottingham Forest ‘invited’ young Polish forward Krzysztof Toporkiewicz for a trial after ‘representatives watched’ him playing for UKS SMS Lodz u19s. The 16-year-old has reportedly been scouted by a number of clubs this season, but he’s come to England to try and earn himself a professional deal with The Reds.
Little is known about Toporkiewicz, but he could flourish under the guidance of Aitor Karanka as the Forest manager has frequently cited the importance of blooding youngsters into the first-team. Arvin Appiah has been a beneficiary of this mentality, having been promoted from the u18s to feature in the EFL Cup this season.
It’s likely that Toporkiewicz will slot into Forest’s u18 side, competing with the likes of Appiah, Alex Mighten, Keith Asare and Luke McCormick for playing time. Gareth Holmes’ men have been inconsistent in recent weeks, winning only two of their last five games in all competitions. Nevertheless, Forest are second in the Development League North with 25 points from 13 games this season.
They next host Barnsley in the league on Friday, November 23. It’s unknown if Toporkiewicz is able feature in the squad given his triallist status.
