Ben Brereton is the subject of sustained interest from Blackburn Rovers with the Sun reporting that a loan offer (with a £6m purchase clause) has been submitted for the 19-year-old.

However, it is believed that we will only sell for £12m, with the teenager highly rated by the manager and the club.

Our no.17 hasn’t been selected in a matchday squad by Aitor Karanka so far this season, but when I polled fans about what price we should sell the forward for, a significant number said he isn’t for sale:

It’s unlikely that Blackburn will be able to match our reported £12m asking price anyway, even with their owners Venkys reportedly keen to splash some cash. Still, a loan move away from the City Ground (without an option to purchase) could be on the cards.

After playing 39 games in all competitions last season, his game time this campaign could be severely reduced after the arrival of Lewis Grabban. He may still depart in order to get matches before August 31st.
