No News Is Good News

If no news is good news, then Forest fans will be a deliriously happy bunch at the moment. Whilst the announcement of the anticipated new signings is proving harder to find than a match winning goal from Joel Lynch, the club is said to be working tirelessly in an effort to bring them in.

Cardiff City’s Peter Whittingham and Swansea’s Darren Pratley continue to be linked with a move to Trentside, as well as a host of other names. Charlton Athletic midfielder Nicky Baily is also said to be a target for the Reds’, but Sky Sports News says we face competition for his signature from Southampton, Middlesbrough and West Brom.

The official site did inform us that five of our youngsters have been handed new contracts, but that no less than eleven were told their Forest careers were at an end. Well done to those offered new deals, but you have to feel for those who have been shown the door.

All in all, not very much to write home about, which is usually the case at this time of year. For the moment we’ll just have to remain patient and try to enjoy the footy fest coming to our TV screens next week. Those shiny new signings will be here though, just a case of hanging in there I’m afraid. At least we haven’t heard King Billy ranting and raving about missing out on his targets…..that has to be good news…..doesn’t it?
