We may only be 3 games into the season, but it seems that some people are pressing the panic button already. Forest travel to QPR tomorrow and ahead of the game, Reds’ boss Billy Davies has called for cool heads, as the lads go in search of their first win of the season.

Forest have drawn 1 and lost 2 of their first 3 games. Davies told the official site. ‘I’ve been here before, at the start of seasons both at Preston and Derby where we didn’t get off to flying starts and weren’t sitting in the top six after seven or eight games. There was doom and gloom all over the place but it was a different situation come the end of the season.’

The early signs from the first 2 games with Reading and West Brom, gave reason for hope this campaign, but the 4-2 defeat against Watford on Tuesday hammered home the point that there’s still work to do in strengthening the squad. Davies is still on the lookout for at least one more defender, before the transfer window closes a week on Monday.

It is too early to panic and Davies is right in calling for calm. If his previous record in the Championship is anything to go by, then he has every reason to feel confident about the season ahead. If he could just sign a couple of defenders, then the fans will have too.
