The merits of a Supporters Trust have been debated long and hard on every Forest message board in recent weeks, but last night a motion was carried that gave the green light to one being formed by the fans of NFFC.

The event was organised by Jonathon Burkin and representatives from Lincoln City and Sheffield Wednesday ST’s were also present. The recent decline of NFFC was outlined, as well as the disappointment of fans. Ways that other ST’s had worked with clubs was explained, some for the good and some not so.

Event organiser Jonathan Burkin told www.forest-st.org.uk. ‘Today is the direct result of years of witnessing our club slip further and further away from us. For the past two months myself and five other lifelong Nottingham Forest supporters have been working with Supporters Direct to get to where we are today. It has been a lot of hard work and effort. We have been assisted along the way by a number of other people, all with the same ambition, to try and give the fans a voice.’

The assembled panel took questions from the audience and the way in which Supporters Trusts work was explained. If you would like to see a full and detailed account of last night’s events then, check it out Here
