Forest travel to Vale Park still in search of their first win of the season. It’s been a happy hunting ground for the Reds in recent years and was the catalyst for the ‘Charlie and Frank’ revolution that almost catapulted us to promotion two seasons ago.
Last seasons encounter at Vale Park ended in a 1-1 draw and saw Vale player Husbands sent off. This resulted in a touchline skirmish, that saw the Forest bench and Vale supporters in heated exchanges. Forest need a win badly to keep the pressure off manager Colin Calderwood. The good news for Reds fans, is the expected place in the squad for new signing Chris Cohen, who is yet to make his full Forest debut since signing from Yeovil in the summer. It will be interesting to see whether Calderwood plays him from the start, or gives him a place on the bench.
Vale will have on show one David McGoldrick, rumoured to be a Forest target all summer until signing on loan for the Valiants. It’s odds on that he’ll score, let’s just hope we come out on top.

The former Notts County trainee found the net 6 times in 12 appearances for Bournemouth last year when on loan to them from Southampton. The supposed Forest target will love nothing more than to put one over his former suitors and pile the pressure on us.

Grant Holt is back in contention after his suspenson, but may have to settle for a place on the bench now that Tyson is fit again. Cohen will at least make the squad, but will make his debut at some stage.

The former Yeovil midfielder came to Forest with a reputation as the best playmaker in the division and is hotly tipped for a great future in the game. The West Ham academy graduate doesn’t score many, but is instrumental in setting everything up.
