Forest travel to Vale Park still in search of their first win of the season. It’s been a happy hunting ground for the Reds in recent years and was the catalyst for the ‘Charlie and Frank’ revolution that almost catapulted us to promotion two seasons ago.

Last seasons encounter at Vale Park ended in a 1-1 draw and saw Vale player Husbands sent off. This resulted in a touchline skirmish, that saw the Forest bench and Vale supporters in heated exchanges. Forest need a win badly to keep the pressure off manager Colin Calderwood. The Reds sit in 20th position in the League, having only amassed 3 points so far. Vale are in 14th with 5 points.

The good news for Reds fans, is the expected place in the squad for new signing Chris Cohen, who is yet to make his full Forest debut since signing from Yeovil in the summer. It will be interesting to see whether Calderwood plays him from the start, or gives him a place on the bench.

Vale will have on show one David McGoldrick, rumoured to be a Forest target all summer until signing on loan for the Valiants. It’s odds on that he’ll score, let’s just hope we come out on top.
