Forest welcome a Cheltenham side in fine form at present. They have only lost 1 of their last 8 games. But depite sitting in 17th place in the table and 5 points above the drop zone, they aren’t safe yet and will be looking for at least a point.

Forest should be in an upbeat mood for once, following the 1-0 win away at Carlisle. Sitting in 4th place and 9 points from an auto spot, we need to be taking maximum points from the next two home games to cement a place in the playoffs. Consistency has been one of our major problems this season and a follow up to the good performance in midweek is vital.

Calderwood will have a few selection headaches this week. Namely does he recall club captain Breckin and does he give a starting place to wonder kid McCleary?

Although we gave the Robins a 3-0 thumping earlier in the season, we should not take them for granted. Keith Downing has them playing well and they have beaten Lucky Leeds twice and Carlisle once already.

Famous people from Cheltenham:

Better than you might expect this week. They can boast the likes of Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards and Arthur ‘Bomber’ Harris as homeboys. Richard O’Brien, the man guilty of bringing The Rocky Horror Show to our attention hails from there. As does BBC TV’s Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond (also famous for crashing expensive cars). Norman Wisdom, the comedian is also from the place.

Vital Quotes:

Robins boss Keith Downing says it will be the highlight of their season by playing at the City Ground. ‘We’ve got nothing to fear, we go there on the back of a good run, Forest need the points, and it’ll be an interesting confrontation.’

Nottingham Forest Team News:

Forest are saying that Nathan Tyson who went off at half time on Tuesday should be fit. Davies will be out again with his dodgy hamstring and Kris Commons is also expected to be out with a troublesome thigh. Brecks will be available and we wait to see if James Perch is fit after completing a 3 match ban, as well as injury.

Player to watch: Julian Bennett

The marauding left back is in great form this season. His imposing runs down the wing and ability to cross a ball has seen him make the position his own despite the signing of Matty Lockwood from Orient.

Cheltenham Town Team News:

Damien Spencer is a doubt with a knee injury and former Red Alan Wright will have a fitness test ahead of the game due to a dodgy Achilles.

Player to watch: Steven Gillespie

The former Bristol City striker signed for the Robins in 2006 and has knocked in 12 goals in all competitions this season.

Match Facts & Stats

We’ve only met each other 3 times and they have all been Forest wins. Last time out at Whaddon Road, we managed a 3-0 win. In the 3 games so far, Cheltenham have yet to score a goal against us.
