Jason Cummings made it four goals in four league starts for Peterborough as the Reds loanee stuck away a last-minute penalty to secure a 1-0 away win at Charlton last night.
The Scottish international didn’t impress during the first half of last season after moving to the City Ground. His loan switch to Rangers in January didn’t lead to the permanent move to Ibrox he had hoped for either.
However, his impressive start to life in League One with the Posh has some fans questioning whether he was given a fair chance by Aitor Karanka:
Another goal for Cummings tonight I see. I know its League One but this lad had goals in him if he is played and trusted. Never had a chance at #nffc

Cummings playing in a team that likes strikers and likes to attack , Karanka is a 1-0 merchant and we have to accept that and hope he’s successful #nffc https://t.co/GooPXXCzBT

Cummings was never given a proper run up front for #NFFC. I hope he gets himself together at posh and we get rewarded for once.

Cummings already has four goals and an assist at Peterborough. Wonder what he'll be worth at the end of the season… ????#nffc

Peterborough FC is usually a hot bed for breeding strikers. So when Jason Cummings has notched 20+ goals, he will be like a free transfer when he returns instead of being quoted x amount of million….#NFFC ⭐⭐#OriginalReds ????

One supporter thinks his form should up his fee at the end of the season:
Literally cant wait til the end of the season when Posh try and get Cummings and we tell them it'll be at least 6 million. See how they like it. #nffc

It’s a difficult one for me. Cummings scored most of his goals in the Championship when playing for Hibs in Scotland. He then failed to hit the ground running under Mark Warburton, and then failed to impress back in the Scottish Premiership with just 6 goals in 18 games for Rangers.
However, it must be said that last season he was afforded just 19 starts in all competitions for both clubs. Now he is starting regularly again, it could be argued he has refound his form. We’re only a few games into the new season so let’s just see how he does over the next few months.
