Given the plethora of new signings that we’ve completed, it’s natural that players must depart to balance the books and maintain financial stability. The latest player who has been linked with a move away from the City Ground is Michael Mancienne.

As Nottinghamshire Live reports, the 30-year-old defender is the subject of interest Çaykur Rizespor who play in Turkey’s second division. It is believed that the former Chelsea defender will not be included in Aitor Karanka’s plans for the season.

Here’s how Forest supporters have reacted to the news on Twitter.

Verdict:

To his credit, the 30-year-old has made purposeful contributions to our cause since joining the club from Hamburg in 2014. He also flaunts valuable qualities such as his versatility, and decent passing ability. However, given the increased competition for defensive players, this summer could represent the most appropriate time to cash-in on the defender.
