Some Nottingham Forest fans have been looking back on our 3-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1998.
The victory moved us once step closer towards the First Division title as the three points helped us towards securing promotion back to the Premier League.
Goals from Andy Johnson, Pierre van Hooijdonk and Kevin Campbell made up the goal tally for the afternoon at the City Ground as we won 18 games at home and scored 52 goals in front of our fans that season.
We went on to win the title by five points ahead of Middlesbrough who achieved automatic promotion along with us. Sunderland, who finished third in the standings, won the Play-offs to make up the trio of teams that moved up to the highest tier in English football.
Because of this, supporters posted their best memories of the game and the overall campaign on social media. One fan said that it was his favourite season as part of the City faithful, while another described the occasion as pure “childhood memories”.
My favourite season as a Forest fan. Me n dad went pretty much every game that season https://t.co/rYgTYuG4vb

Fantastic season! That team would have easily been mid table in the prem the season after with no additions! Dismantling it has cost us 20 years of top flight football 🙈

Remember this day so well. Dad managed to bag two seats in a box in the BC stand. The programme had the 1898 fa cup winners on the front. Childhood memories!!
