More Praise For Agogo

Junior Agogo gets the chance to meet up with some of his former team mates tonight as the Reds take on Bristol Rovers at the City Ground.

Junior signed from Rovers at the end of the 2006 August transfer window for an undisclosed fee and has since become an engmatic figure at the City Ground.

Former team mate Steve Elliott told the BBC. ‘I think he needed that move really. They’re a big team, a big club and I think he’s kicked on.’ He’s always showed the capability that he could play higher. I’m really pleased for him.’

Forest fans saw for the first time since his return from the ACON tournament, exactly what Elliott was on about with his two goals against Cheltenham at the weekend. Since Junior’s return from Ghana he has suffered a dip in form, as many players do after a major tournament. But many Forest fans were a little more scathing of him, even suggesting he’d gotten too big for his orange boots and had become lazy.

Following his success in Ghana, it has been rumoured that Portsmouth were smitten with him and will make a £2M bid for him in the summer. All tabloid gossip of course, but if he can help fire us to promotion, then who knows. We need him to be in top form during the run in, let’s hope he can continue where he left off at the weekend, by getting a goal tonight against his former club and live up to the hype.
