More Defensive Woes For Reds’

Following hot on the heels of confirmation of Wes Morgan’s 6-8 week lay off, due to ankle ligament damage, Joel Lynch is also reportedly injured again with further problems to his groin injury.

Morgan went off injured early in the 1-0 defeat to Palace just over a week ago and was replaced on Saturday by Joel Lynch, who was himself not 100% fit following groin problems. He was substituted after 22 minutes at Bristol on Saturday, after aggravating the same injury again.

Lynch’s injury is proving to be something of a mystery for the Forest Physios. Steve Cotterill told the official site. ‘The only thing is we’re struggling to find what is wrong there, what is going on. He obviously has a problem but we’ve had everything scanned and there’s not a lot more we can do with that. The physios are carrying on with their work and having a look at it.’

Brendan Moloney who replaced Lynch on Saturday, was himself carrying a knock he picked up in a reserve game a fortnight ago. The defence is so threadbare at present, that Cotterill may have little choice in the coming weeks but to throw in the kids.
