Nottingham Forest have confirmed that manager Alex McLeish has left the club by mutual consent, after only 41 days in charge at the City Ground.

McLeish was appointed on December 27, following the dismissal of Sean O’Driscoll. He was manager for just 7 games and had lost 4 of those.

A statement has been released by the LMA on behalf of Alex McLeish, where he was quoted as saying. ‘Both parties entered into the relationship in good faith, however, there was a difference in the understanding of the development strategy of the football club and it was felt by both parties that we should part company.’

The NFFC official site also released a statement confirming the news.

A bit of stability is what is required now, but with 4 managers in a year and 6 in 18 months, the madness looks a long way from being over yet.
