Preston North End chairman John Ryan, has lost his battle to keep influential midfielder Paul McKenna at the Lancashire club, as the 31 year old officially signs on the dotted line for the Reds’.

Billy Davies has managed to recruit a player he previously worked with during his time at Preston as manager. He’s the sixth player to pledge his services to Forest and to Billy’s rebuilding programme.

McKenna will prove to be one of the most important signings that Billy Davies makes this year. He’s a natural leader and will hopefully get the captains armband immediately. At Championship level, he has over 400 games worth of experience behind him. He will also command the respect of the younger members of the squad.

He joins on a three year contract, for a fee of £750,000. Another great bit of business by the club. Well done Forest and welcome to the City Ground Paul McKenna.
