The BBC are today confirming speculation, that Forest duo Paul McKenna and Dele Adebola have both signed for Championship rivals Hull City.

McKenna signed from Preston in 2009 for a fee of £750,000. In his first 6 months at the club he was instrumental in our remarkable turnaround in fortunes, that saw us reach the Championship Playoffs on two successive occasions. For much of his time at the City Ground, he was club captain, but relinquished the armband after injury during last season. His time after that initial period, is best glossed over, as both he and Adebola became something of scapegoats for the team.

Adebola is out of contract with the Reds’ and at 36 years of age, he will be seen as surplus to requirements at the City Ground. He joined the club in 2009 on a free transfer from Bristol City and made 71 appearances for us, but only 17 of them were starts. He scored 8 goals for the club in all competitions.

McKenna and Adebola were welcome additions to the squad in 2009 and more than played their part in our resurgence in form under Billy Davies. Both players are expected to sign for the Tigers for free.
