I love it when the manager urges his players to show some fight, passion and pride before a game and I especially love it when he tells those same players just how lucky they are to be wearing the famous Garibaldi of NFFC.

Steve McClaren has done just that, ahead of tonights’ 2nd round Carling Cup match at Wycombe Wanderers. He told the official site. ‘I’ve said to the players that playing for Nottingham Forest comes with history and tradition. I’ve told them they can’t take a day off – they are so privileged to wear a Nottingham Forest shirt and every day they have to fight for that shirt.’

McClaren won this competition with Middlesbrough in 2004 and is clearly taking it seriously. Forest of course are no strangers to winning it and have won the competition on no less than 4 occasions and have been runners up twice.
