McClaren – We Were Rubbish

The morning after the night before and Forest fans are still seething after the 5-1 defeat at Burnley. Everyone from the chairman to the tea lady are to blame, but at least the gaffer admitted what most fans were screaming, when he described the performance as rubbish in his post match interview.

McClaren said. ‘We were rubbish on and off the ball. We have let the whole club down and all the supporters who travelled to watch us, I feel for the supporters, it is unacceptable.’

This was the heaviest defeat of the season to date and will heap yet more pressure on Steve McClaren. There’s no shortage of people for fans to blame for this latest demise in the misfortunes of NFFC, with Nigel Doughty, Mark Arthur, Steve McClaren and even the players themselves coming under fire. However, the one inescapable fact over the past 12 years of troubles that have fallen on this club is that Mr. Doughty has overseen them all.
