Transfer speculation from The Daily Mail today, is linking Billy Davies with a £1.5m move for the highly rated Doncaster Rovers defender Matthew Mills.

The former Manchester City centre half still has two years to run with his current contract at the Keepmoat and the Rovers boss Sean O’Driscoll is sure to want to hang on to one of his most prized assets. Mills has only been at the club since last August, but he has made a big impact since joining from City.

He was linked with a January move to Brum, but that deal never materialised. It’s the first time he’s been linked with a move to the City Ground, but he’d definitely be a welcome addition. It’s still only a rumour at this stage, but it’s a juicy one. Personally I think he could be Prem bound if he is to move, with the smart money still resting on Rob Jones from Hibs filling our defensive weak spot.

  • What are we doing about putting a bid in for Paul Anderson – Swansea have made their move……..???

  • The lad is quality and was at City at a time when we had some really good CB and was difficult for Mills to get into the side and spent a lot of time out on loan. I think the if he signs then you have a good one.
