Alright then! Here we go! The first match report from kids corner (please be gentle on me!

Forest v Ipswich, 14th December 2013.

The match kicked off and the fans were roaring, however, despite the optimism in the crowd the first 15 minutes of the game were very flat!

Before a burst from the reds lead to a huge penalty appeal, when Simon Cox was brought down, but it was turned down by the referee. After that Forest played some great Football, when a cross from Abdoun, met by Simon Cox’s head, was fantastically palmed onto the bar from the Ipswich keeper, Gerken.

After that there were a few other attempts from Mackie, Cox, Chalobah and Abdoun but none of them forced Gerken into any meaningful saves.

Ipswich only had a couple of chances through former forest player David McGoldrick but they were weak.

The last minutes of the first half were also flat, with no real testing efforts. As the half time whistle went the ref was booed off by the fans, most likely due to the penalty refusal. Deep inside, a lot of Forest fans knew that this match was heading towards a 0-0 draw.

The second half kicked off where the first half finished, there were lots of good chances for Forest, the best of them falling to Simon Cox who ran on to Andy Reid’s clever pass but, once again Gerken made a fantastic save! Free headers from Chalobah, Halford and Jack Hobbs were not on target.

Billy tried to change things by making subs but the match was going towards a draw and when the match fell into the dying embers Karl Darlow made 2 saves from the shots of Ipswich players Nouble and Cresswell.

Finally the whistle blew and there were a few undeserved boo’s but you could tell the match was going to be a draw from when Simon Cox hit the bar in the first half. A disappointing result and Forest not playing at there best standards.

Well that’s it for this weeks match report hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading my report!
