Sky Sports News are reporting that Notts County are hoping to make the loan deal of Forest defender Brendan Moloney a permanent one in January. Moloney has been on loan to the Magpies since the start of the season and has impressed Sven and the Meadow Lane outfit in his short spell at the club.

Moloney is still only 20 and is one of the brightest young prospects at the City Ground. He has also impressed in his 12 appearances for the Reds’ and would be missed if he decided to join our neighbours.

Forest are quite rightly holding out for the best price possible and don’t want to sell him off cheap. According to SSN, Notts Chairman Peter Trembling, says the two clubs are struggling to agree a price.

Whilst Moloney might find it difficult to get infront of Chris Gunter for the right back position in the Forest squad, he’s more than decent backup for the Reds’. It’s a tough call for Forest, but you can’t stand in the players way if he wants to progress. Question is, how much is Moloney worth?
