Lockwood injured his ankle ligaments on his debut for the Reds in the opening day encounter with Bournemouth, but last night came through the full 90 mins of a reserve game unscathed and declared himself fit.

This is the second bit of good news to come out of the City Ground with the return of Chris Cohen last week. The once long list of injuries is at long last showing signs of improving.

It’s been a frustrating time for the former Orient player who told the official site . ‘You come to a new club and you want to prove you’re worthy of being signed.’ He also said he hoped to be involved in some way on Saturday and wanted to show Forest fans what he was capable of. If we do get to see that, then fans can expect a few goals from him as he ended last season as the O’s top scorer. Not bad for a defender.

Also in the reserves 1-0 win at Port Vale last night, was midfielder Lewis McGugan who played for 20 mins of the game. Good to see him back on the pitch again after his ankle injury.
