Joe Worrall is the subject of interest from Swansea City, according to the Nottingham Post. The 21-year-old is behind four other centre-backs in the pecking order at the club, and Aitor Karanka has said he is open to the player leaving on loan.

The defender played 35 games in all competitions last campaign but he has yet to feature this season, despite the manager confirming he is training well and ready to play.

I polled supporters on whether we should loan out the centre-half. The vast majority think our no.42 should be allowed to leave on a temporary basis:

Worrall was absent from the squad again in last night’s shootout win against Bury. Michael Dawson and Michael Hefele were picked in the starting eleven with Tobias Figueiredo named on the bench.

Joe is in training so an injury wouldn’t explain his absence so it is looking more and more likely that he’ll leave the City Ground on loan before the window closes.
