The wheels might already be in motion.
I’ve spoken before about how the club could be about to go through the process of selling off some of our key players, but we could be about to lose another one for nothing.
According to a report in The Athletic, Queens Park Rangers are eyeing up a move for 35-year-old midfielder Ben Watson and are willing to offer him a two-year deal in order to move to West London. Watson, who played in all bar one of our league games this past campaign, is set to be out of contract, so could depart the club on a free transfer.
Does Ben Watson deserve a new contract with Forest?
Yes
No
However, it should be stated that the report states that Forest are still interested in holding on to him.
And this was news that seemed to split the Nottingham Forest fanbase, as they couldn’t decide whether or not letting him go would be a good move.
I hope he goes, too defensive minded. Shocking the previous season.

We need to move on from Ben.

Let him go we need more legs in there and to be more adventurous, him playing means the other midfielders have to much running to do. If you watch how Colback used to play the holding role he allowed the others to get forward and worked all over the pitch #nffc

He’s been fantastic this season but Colback will be a far better option if you consider Watson’s age.

I hope not he will leave a massive hole in midfield not easy to fill

What about you? What do you make of this news regarding Watson?
