Nottingham Forest were reported to have made a £1.5m bid for Celtic centre half Kelvin Wilson on Friday, but Celtic boss Neil Lennon, today says that figure falls well short of what the Glasgow club values him at.

Wilson left the City Ground for Parkhead in January 2012 on a free transfer and has made over 72 appearances for the SPL champions as well as figuring in their Champions League campaign. He’s been a first team regular since making the move North, but is now a target for Reds’ boss Billy Davies.

Reports in several Scottish papers today have Lennon saying he does not want to sell Wilson and that Forest will have to considerably up their offer if they want their man.

Lennon told the Daily Record. ‘There was a bid in for Kelvin. I haven`t had the chance to digest it but I think it`s not going to be anywhere near enough. He is in a stable position with us and there is no need to push the panic button just yet. ‘I would imagine he`d want to stay. I didn’t have the chance to speak to him about it but I will.’
