Neil Lennon moved to Forest in the summer from Celtic, in what was seen at the time as something of a coup for the club.

In his short spell with the Reds he only managed 18 appearances and his time on Trentside was filled with varied opinion on his worth to the side.

It was a 50/50 split with the fans. Some thought he did a good job in stopping opposition attacks and starting ours. Others saw him as past his best and lazy. I for one thought he did a good job for us, but it was apparent that he did not see eye to eye with CC and wanted first team football. That could not be guaranteed with the midfield we have at present.

He did of course court controversy earlier in the campaign, when he went back to Scotland to sort out family problems. Stating that he was missing family life up North and was feeling unsettled. This makes the move further South a little strange, but he will get his desired first team place at Wycombe. Good luck to him in the rest of his career. Shame it didn’t work out here for him.
