Scunthorpe and Bristol City managed to move 6 points behind league leaders Nottingham Forest with the gap being 7 at the start of play.

Colin Calderwoods side could only manage a 1-1 draw at Milmoor against Rotherham with a stunning goal from Hoskins on 59 minutes, the lead was cancelled out though by the return of Nathan Tyson after being sidelined for several months.

Yeovil only managed a draw against an improved Leyton Orient side who are lying bottom of the table so this meant Scunthorpe and Bristol City had the chance to go 2nd and 3rd. Scunthorpe managed to beat Northampton with a late penalty from Andy Crosby. Gary Johnson`s Bristol City side came from one goal behind to win the game 3-1 against Gillingham.

Tranmere moved into fourth with a 1-0 win at Brighton, Chris Greenacre grabbing the important goal of the game.

Oldham had a good chance to move into the play of places but couldn`t get in despite winning at Bradford 2-0 because Swansea also took a 2-0 victory against Port Vale.

Carlisle United are 2 points behind Oldham in 8th place with their 1-0 win over Bournemouth thanks to a Karl Hawley penalty.

The biggest win of the day was at Griffin Park with Crewe Alexandra thrashing Brentford 4-0 with Luke Varney scoring two, Ben Rix and David Vaughan getting the other two.

Millwall managed to get out of the relegation zone with a 2-2 draw at home to Doncaster Rovers. The Lions are surprisingly under achieving so far this season.

Cheltenham`s poor form continues after a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chesterfield this left them joint bottom of the league and really do look like they aren`t going to move.

Blackpool managed to rise into the top half of the table with a great result against Huddersfield winning 3-1.
