It was all change at the top this week and as you were at the bottom, with Orient regaining top spot and Bournemouth clinging on to the bottom.

Leyton Orient had a convincing 3-1 win over struggling Port Vale yesterday, that saw them reclaim top spot from Swansea. Manager Martin Ling called it their ‘most complete performance of the season.’ The O’s looked as though they were heading for a bit of a wobble, but it seems they have steadied things and are back to winning ways. I still think they must wake up and pinch themselves every day with their lofty position. That said, they’re there on merit.

Southend continued their good run with a 2-0 away win at Walsall. It’s their 6th win in 8 games and takes them up to 2nd in the table. Third placed Carlisle had an easy 2-0 home win against still managerless Gillingham. The Gills stay with the basement boys on 11 points. Forest as we know missed the opportunity of going 2nd in the hard fought 0-0 draw with Donny. Tranmere though, slipped down to 6th after going down 1-0 away at Swindon.

Oh so lucky Leeds United, had a lucky 1-0 win at luckless Brighton. Lucky Leeds had Tresor Kandol to thank for maintaining their lucky unbeaten run. They really are winding me up now!

Down at the bottom poor old Cheltenham lost 2-1 away at Northampton. The Robins are only one point off the foot of the table on 9 points. The good news for them, is they’re only 2 points from safety.

Next week the Reds are away at Luton and will need all 3 points to maintain their push for the top. The Hatters lost 2-0 away at Crewe yesterday and sees them in a position of mid table mediocrity. 15th place and on 14 points, they have to get a run together soon to kick start their season. Let’s just hope it doesn’t start next week.
