Forest fans will be fairly pleased with the weekend’s results in League 1, as the Reds only slip one place having not played today due to the Euro Qualifiers. Carlisle remain top despite having the game with us called off.

Swansea could have taken poll position but lost 1-0 at home on Friday night to Huddersfield. Southend also failed to make the most of things by drawing with basement boys Cheltenham 2-2. They were 2-0 down at the break, but fought back for a point at Roots Hall thanks to two goals in a six minute spell from Gower and Hammell. Cheltenham are still bottom.

Orient could only manage a 2-2 draw at home to Brighton, but do go second in the table with the point. They are level with Carlisle on 28 points, but have a much inferior goal difference.

It was Lucky Leeds United though who made the most ground, after beating Swindon 2-1 at Elland Road. Jermaine Beckford who was supposedly ill and was supposedly going to miss the game got both the goals. They are now a point behind us in 4th place.

Doncaster and Tranmere fought out a goalless draw at the Keepmoat and Walsall and Luton did the same at the Bescot. Oldham have still not found form and could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to lowly Port Vale.

The Reds next opponents Crewe took all three points in a 1-0 win at home to the Cobblers. Crewe go up to 10th with the win. Tomorrow Yeovil face the Gills at home and second from bottom Bournemouth have a long trek to Hartlepool. All in all, not a bad weekend for Forest.
