Nottingham Forest confirmed on Monday that Jorge Grant had joined Mansfield Town on loan until the end of the season. The 24-year-old recently had his temporary stint at Luton Town terminated after losing his place in their first-team, Grant had racked up just 138 minutes of League One football since October 23 and was an unused substitute on four occasions since December.

He’s now with League Two side Mansfield and will hope to make more of an impact at the Stags and will renew acquaintances with goalkeeper Jordan Smith and striker Tyler Walker, both of whom have made similar loan moves to Town from Forest this season. Grant has 18 months left on his existing deal at the City Ground but it’s hard to see him returning to the first-team.

The midfielder hasn’t played for Forest since 2016 and has now been loaned out four times in the last two years alone – Notts County (January 31, 2017 – May 31, 2017), Notts County (July 20, 2017 – May 31, 2018), Luton Town (July 6, 2018 – January 7, 2019) and Mansfield (January 14, 2019 – present). With Grant spending so long on the periphery, his time with Forest could be up next summer.
