Kuwaiti businessman Fawaz Al-Hasawi, is reportedly close to completing a deal to become the new owner of Nottingham Forest.

There was much confusion when the story first broke in the early hours of Tuesday morning as to which English club he had actually bought. A spokesman for Mr. Al-Hasawi claimed he had bought a Championship club, but was not allowed to name them. Various sources on twitter, were yesterday arguing whether the club in question was Leeds Utd or Nottingham Forest.

According to the Kuwait Times, Mr. Al-Hasawi has bought 100% of the shares in a Championship club. That has lead many Forest fans to conclude that the club he has bought is infact Nottingham Forest. The reason for that conclusion, is that whilst Leeds Utd Chairman Ken Bates is in the market for additional investment, he is not looking to relinquish control of the club.

Not much is known about Mr.Al-Hasawi at this stage, other than he is a well respected businessman and he made his vast fortune from the refrigeration business and real estate. He was untill recently the President of Qadsiya Sporting Club, one of the most successful football clubs in Asia.

If reports are true, Fawaz Al-Hasawi is on his way to London as we speak to tie up the deal and an announcement could come as early as next week. Watch this space!
