Kris Commons Practically Begs Forgiveness

Former Forest midfielder and wannabe fan Kris Commons, has obviously got wind of the fact that Nottingham Forest fans are none too happy with his defection to Prideless Park. Speaking to the Nottingham Evening Post, it sounds very much as though he’s begging our forgiveness and pleading for our understanding into why he thought it necessary to jump ship and move to our nearest and fiercest rivals.

Commons claims that he never wanted to leave the City Ground and said. “I went to see Colin Calderwood many times asking for a contract and he never gave me one, and that`s the most disappointing thing.
“He said no, not until the end of the season and I think everyone knows I am 24-years-old and was available on a free transfer. To give me the opportunity to talk to other clubs was just bad business for them. I think they were waiting to see what league they were going to be in, but it unsettled me a little bit. I still did my part for the team and come the end of the season I had a lot of offers. The only offer I didn`t receive was from Forest.’

Poor old Krissy is clearly aware that his defection to the Sheep dip, has made him about as popular in Nottingham as David Platt. But why is he so surprised at the ill feeling towards him? If he is a Forest fan as he has claimed he is on so many occasions, then he would know the answer to that.

If as he says, CC said he would talk about a new contract at the end of the season, then why did he not wait until then? It was obvious to everyyone who frequents the myriad of Forest Internet forums, that he was moving to Prideless well before the season had ended. Rumours had been doing the rounds for weeks, but we never thought it would actually happen. I mean, you just don’t do that sort of thing Kris and you know that really. The other glaring quote from the article, is his claim that he had plenty of other offers. If the mood of Forest fans upsets him so much, then why did he not sign for one of these other clubs?

Maybe CC did want rid and thought that his future lay elsewhere. Time will tell if he was adequately replaced, but the feeling on Trentside at present, would suggest that fans are quite happy with what has been brought in. It’s no good bleating to the press Mr. Commons, you have been tagged a ‘Judas’ and with good reason. You have committed the most heinous football crime of all in joining our fiercest rivals. There are some things that shouldn’t be done in the eyes of football supporters all over the globe and Kris Commons has done it.

He finished by saying he was hurt by some of the criticism aimed at him “It is a sad time for me to leave Forest because all in all I never wanted to leave. I think if I was a Forest fan I`d call me a bit of an idiot. I think we will all agree on the last bit.
